I once was asked if I would be taking my camera on a trip. My answer was, “does a fish swim in water?” Having the chance to be immersed in cultures feeds my soul, stretches and strengthens my understanding of humanity and is one of the most incredible personal development programs you could ever commit to. Then, to be able to photographs people, places and spaces is such a gift and the memories are the best souvenir I could ever have.
My life, like many people, has been an exploration and pursuit for purpose. After travelling to Sicily in 2019 for an intensive portrait workshop with my then mentor, Gina Milicia, I have been embodying transformation and growth. Gina was an inspiration, the most amazing person and brilliant photographer. While I have been doing the work, her mentorship catapulted me in a way I never expected. She is deeply missed but her legacy and spirit remains and stirs me to be the best version I can be of myself. This project is just one way I have been doing the work. I was guided by another incredible photographer, Katie Kolenberg. Thank you ladies.
An opportunity for women to express their own unique unfurling in the form of play. Captivated by the work of Lois Greenfield who has captured the grace and athleticism of dancers in flight for 50yrs I was inspired to capture the motion of fabric and movement of the ladies. No athletic dancers, but still an inspiring group as they embraced self expression through movement and fabric. A beautiful way to celebrate having overcome challenges and celebrated. Then we decide to step into the person we are being called to be.
